First babies.. early, on time, or late??

Yeah what was even more weird was the same doctor did the delivery (there's like 5 others that could have but she was on call again) and it was the same delivery room! I didn't have the same post partum room at least (that would have been too weird!) It's nice to have a Feb baby I always loved the birth stone (so now I have two!) My MIL's birthday is in Feb but no one else in my family has a Feb birthday.

I figure we will just have to have big birthday weekends (when we do have parties) and something special on their birthdays.

When I was pregnant I read in several places that the average for a first time mom is 8 days after the "due" date. That's exactly the day I went into labor (2 1/2 more days before birth, but that's another story). I probably know as many or more mommas who went into labor early or "on time" as opposed to late. I wonder if that average is still correct, especially looking at this poll! (only one babe so far.)

In the end, I don't place a lot of importance on due dates, so many things can make them inaccurate, emotion-producing pains. When that baby is ready, that baby comes!

1 hour past his due date....born at 1am after 22 hours of labor. So we almost made it on the day:-)

I voted late. My first tried coming early (26-ish weeks the first time) and after being in and out of the hospital for the following three weeks battling preterm labor issues, I ended up being sent home on restricted duty (not full bedrest) and medication. I ended up having to be induced with him at 42 weeks 6 days though...I think they took me off of the meds later than necessary and they stayed in my system longer than the doc thought they would.

I went 5 days past my EDD with DD1, then was induced(due to complications), although I was already starting to labor on my own when I was sent in to be induced.
