If I can find some cheap flats, I really HAVE to do it though. Dh lost his job 3 months ago and we dont have money for the coin op machines anymore and its hard to wash the pockets and aio's I have.

So yes I am.

swaddlebees is having 20% off their flats for those participating in the challenge.

Hmmm...sounds kind of interesting! My DS is almost potty trained, so I don't know if it would "count". I still use diapers, but just go through them at a much slower pace. Hand washing would sure be a learning experience!

Re: Are you going to participate in the flats/handwashing challenge?

I wanted to, but I don't have enough flats to get by and I really don't want to buy more flats. Plus I've been super-busy so I don't think I'd get them washed in a timely manner w/o falling behind on other chores

I'm thinking I might, I have hand washed before in my old apt without a washer, but that was more out of need lol.

Re: Are you going to participate in the flats/handwashing challenge?

nope I did it in real life with my first for almost a full year..
no access to a washer/Dryer unless we did coin
DH had no job I was taking care of the baby we were dirt poor...
I had a decent stash cause I'd boght it when times were better but handwashing was just part of it..
No diaper sprayer (wasn't known)
I'd toliet dunk all diapers before the pail
hand washed in the tub with some detergent (what ever ussually SUN) and vinager
used a toliet plunger (bought jsut for this) to aggitate the water (and get a workout)
line dried..
gathered everything and stuck it in a super capicty washer at the mat once every other month or so..

FWIW my stash them all hung to dry...

Re: Are you going to participate in the flats/handwashing challenge?

No way! I already wash at least 10 loads of laundry per week (in our machine), and handwash wool and swimsuits, and line dry most of it, and even though I like laundry, there are about 1000 better ways I can spend my time (no offense to those who are doing the challenge) than washing poopy diapers by hand .

Like dyeing them
