Here's one with a plunger: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWyCx...9582E3&index=2 however I am getting a Breathable washer: http://beprepared.com/product.asp?pn=MC%20W050 and will be doing it in a big Home Depot bucket (or possibly bathtub). There's some great diaper handwashing videos on YouTube-I really really like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsFYY...eature=related however I wouldn't use gloves personally-I do have a diaper sprayer for when DS isn't EBF anymore

Maybe for a couple days, I work several of those days. 12 hour shifts are not conducive to handwashing. We own 8 osocozy flats, 3 large GMD's, and 8 rectangular birdseye preflats that are great for padfolding, but need to be doubled. Just enough for a day and a half or so.

We have just recently been very short of money, and things are now better than they've ever been. I think it's a great idea, anybody can do this with very little start up cost! Even better if you can get some cheap covers somewhere (I found 5 at the diaper service store that are used, but fine, for $1 each today).

its an interesting idea but im not sure i have the time to handwash diapers. i will think about it, but im not up to using my only tub to wash poopy diapers. ick lol

When it was just me and my dd I would handwash with a bucket and a plunger. I had two lids for the bucket, one with an opening for the plunger and the other normal lid for just the dipes so they didn't stink us up on the road. When my son was born last fall it was about two months before I was able to afford a portable washer so I got my fix of handwashing then. It was however all with prefolds, I still want to try flats someday if I can get ahold of some cheap bamboo or hemp flats second hand...
