Question Aveeno mineral sunblock safe?

It has active zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, no chemical sunscreens. I got a chance to rub some on my hand and it rubbed in very well. Is it a safe one?

Was it greasy at all? I need to find something totally non-greasy or I'll never use it, I know! Have you checked it out on http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen/? I guess I can do that now...

ETA: Not sure which one you tried, so here's all the Aveeno options...

I could not find it on their. I think it is a pretty new product. It is oil free, fragrance free, waterproof. I do see some not so good sounding ingredients in it but I have tried many all natural sunblocks and they either take too much work to rub in ( kidos hated that part) are greasy or leave you looking like a ghost. My kids need one that is safe and easy for our day care mom to apply. I feel bad giving her a product to use and it takes to long to rub in ect. DS has sensitive skin to many sun products we have tried in the past. I went for it and picked some up tonight.

Aveeno makes good stuff and those ingredients are harmless, zinc oxide does turn your skin white though(not permanently, just is hard to rub in), its also a waterproofing agent.

Not there. Pretty sure its a new one this year. It's not greasy at all.

FWIW I did my research and was confident in my choice of this sunscreen.

You can search individual ingredients on the Cosmetic Database as well. I'll be shopping for a safe sunscreen / sunblock as well as this weekend marks the start of camping season for us. I'm not sure we can afford $14 or $23 for 2.9 oz. of Badger or California Baby sunscreen.

Re: Aveeno mineral sunblock safe?

I bought Badger sunscreen at Whole Foods, even the plant oils in it are organic - now there's a good sunscreen. pricey, but worth it. i was lucky to go there a day when it was half off.

Badger and thinkbaby are two good ones. I use the thinkbaby last year and it lasted us the whole summer on all five of us. They are 15% off now at www.naturalpureessentials.com
