Re: Preschool developmental issue

I think that so long as you have good communication with the teachers about what they are expecting and what you are expecting, things can be worked out. Some kids do get overlooked, but I think a lot of it is when parents don't take the time to step in and make sure their children are getting what they need.

Re: Preschool developmental issue

My concern is that her teacher thinks she can only speak in 3-4 word sentences and she is capable of speaking in complete sentences. She is 4.5. If her teacher thinks she can only speak in 3-4 word sentences why did she never bring up developmental concerns with me? That would put her at a much lower level than she really is at. It is the end of the school year and it was never mentioned to me. I don't think she is going to grow out of her shyness so I worried about what her teachers are going to think of her abilities compared to what she really is capable of. I just can't believe someone who spends so much time with her thinks she only speaks in 3-4 word sentences.
