My daughter's current sippy cups are leaking all over the place, so I'm looking for a good replacement. I'd prefer stainless steel, but I'm open to BPA/pthalate- free plastics.
Any recommendations? I'd love to hear from some mamas who have tried the little Klean Kanteens with the Avent spouts... Those are adorable and appear to be exactly what I'm looking for, but some reviews indicate that they leak terribly. Is that the case? ![]() Thanks, mamas!

I love our Klean Kanteen sippys. We have been using the same ones for about 3 years now. The only time they have leaked is if the soft white spout gets bent over and squished in a bag or something. The hard green spouts havent leaked on us at all. I always seem to misplace the caps. They are awesome though and as your child gets older you can buy the the sports cap so the klean kanteen transitions out of a sippy to a sports bottle.

Re: Stainless steel or BPA-free sippy cups?
KK sippies are the best. I had some cheaper brands and they dented alot quicker than the KK's. (ALthough my kids have managed to dent the kk's as well) THe sippy nozzles have held up well and no leaks and easy to clean. It seems expensive, but I think I paid $16 each and have had for over 2 years. Its all my kids drink out of.

Re: Stainless steel or BPA-free sippy cups?
I also saw the OGGI stainless steel sippy bottles @ Big Lots recently for about $4. I think they also have the hard green spout. DD doesn't drink out of the sippy spout (she likes the sport bottle nozzle), but we got the Agoo set w/ the SS bottle w/ interchangeable nipple, sippy, or sport spout & DD loves it.

Re: Stainless steel or BPA-free sippy cups?
KLEAN KANTEEN!! Get them. Think about all the other chemicals in plastics - just because they are BPA free, there are who-knows-how-many potentially harmful chemicals.
We love our kanteens. We have never had a leak. I am using avent bottle nipples and sippies in them right now. Watch babysteals.com, they have klean kanteens on there a lot. you can always buy the sippy adaptor separately. it's so great because you can get a sport cap when your child outgrows the sippy.

Re: Stainless steel or BPA-free sippy cups?
We've used Thermos' Foogo for years now. The taller one with the straw is really great. The sippies are a bit tougher to get no leaks, but they're still great. TJ Maxx and Marshalls have had them here for a song.

Re: Stainless steel or BPA-free sippy cups?
I second the Thermos SS cups. I have several of the straw cups (the Funtainer ones) and they are great! My youngest would never use the sippies that I bought, but she loves the straw cups. They hold up pretty well, too. Been thrown many a time and dropped on concret and still no dents.

Re: Stainless steel or BPA-free sippy cups?
We've got the KK sippies and love them. I've never used the soft spout on them only the hard spout but I used to use the Avent cups with the soft spout and they can leak. I haven't had a problem with the green ones leaking at all, actually I have problems with my sport tops leaking but not the sippies. As for denting, they are still stainless and not much can survive a throw from a large truck onto asphalt!
But they're still functional and looked 'loved'.
