Re: Is 6:30 too early for bedtime...lol

Hey, if she's tired, put her to bed! Unless she has a habit of falling asleep early and then waking at night (had one that would do that) I would just go with the flow. If she missed her nap she could use the extra sleep! Hope she goes down well for ya!

My 3 year old starts asking to go to bed around 6-6:30. But I try to keep her up until 7 or 7:15. She generally sleeps till 7 AM, but lately she's been trying to get up at 6:45 and it's been killing me.
As far as bedtime is concerned, the earlier the better!

Mine fell asleep around 6 tonight, I was trying to keep her up until 6:30 but it was NOT working - she is usually getting ready for bed around 7 but she missed her nap and I am cranky, probably going to bed myself shortly.

DS goes to bed at 6pm daily! DD is in bed by 6:30-7:00 every day. If she needs to go to bed, put her to bed.

Ditto... DSS's normal bedtime is 7:30ish, but usually about once a week (well, every other week because he's at his mom's every other week) he goes to "play in his room" while I make dinner, and I end up having to wake him so that he can eat supper. And, he eats and climbs right back into his bed. Poor little bugger. I guess some nights he just doesn't sleep well or has a bigger day than normal at school and is just tuckered out.

Aww poor baby!! Poor mama! Won't you lay down too, with her? It would do both of you some good.

We lay down whenever we are tired here so a 6:30 nap is not that big a deal to me.

I was watching a little boy almost 2yo overnight for a friend of mine and he was sleepy at 5:30 so my daughter and I crawled in bed and he followed us and went right to sleep. (I also wanted my son to follow us and take a nap too but he didn't fall for it that time. My daughter and I got up after the little boy went to sleep.) Anyway that little boy never did wake up!! He slept all night. He woke up when the sun started coming up but I just told him to go back to sleep lol!!

I've put all of my kids in bed at 6:30 MANY times! Actually the baby probably goes to bed at that time once or twice a week.

Omg someone please tell me how you get your kids to go to bed that early. My son fights it and usually goes to bed at 930 and falls asleep around 10 (with a parent in bed). He even wakes up at 7am! He used to not seem tired until 11pm. He's also a light sleeper and wakes for water. Oh and if we try to put him to bed early, say 8, after a long day, he wakes at 4 am ready for the day. He even naps only 1 hour earlier if he wakes at 4 :0(

Not too early at all. My kids are usually in bed and asleep by 7pm. If the baby misses a nap, it's often earlier. DD gets up at 6:30 and the boys sleep until close to 8.
