Baby girls and haircuts

My SO thinks our LO needs a haircut but I really didn't think little girls needed their hair cut till later. She is 11months and is now wearing her hair in a little "Pebbles" pony to keep the bangs out of her eyes. When did your little girl get her first haircut?

DD is 15 mos & rockin the "Pebbles" 'do, as well...we're going to grin & bear it until her hair grows out a bit more, as she doesn't have much & bangs will not help it look any thicker...FWIW, my mom didn't let me get my hair cut at all (not even a trim) until I was 5. I would not suggest waiting that long .

DD only got a trim from me until we got a professional cut/style when she was 33months. She just needed her back evened out and bangs trimmed once in a while. SHe was 33 months before we took her in and she sat perfect. She was so excited to get a haircut. Believe it or not it did thicken up after that. The sides have finally started to fill in. We still have it in a short bob cut, but the plan is to let it grow out with trims to keep it neat.

My daughter is 3.5yo and still hasn't gotten a haircut! She could probably use one, but right now the thought of trying to get her to sit still while someone cuts her hair ranks right up there with wrestling a wolverine...so we're going to hold off for a bit.

We go to the Kids Hair salon. They have little TVs at each station to play a DVD and have books and bubbles, etc. And the cuts are generally done within 15 minutes, so it might be easier than you think. Its not like an adult cut with a shampoo, cut, dry, style that takes 45minutes to an hour or more.

<3 your humor. DD is 2.5 and still no hair cut and we probably won't be doing it for a while. I just don't see the need at abiotic age. We rocked the pebbles do for a while and then it grew out to where we could just clip the top back. Her bangs are the last to grow in and are still not in her face yet.

Sent from my iPhone...excuse any autocorrect mishaps!

My DD is 17 months, I have been trimming her bangs since maybe 11 months but today was only the third time I had to do it. We haven't cut any other part of her hair yet.

Re: Baby girls and haircuts

My girls didn't get anything but a trim until they were 3. And even then, it was because they (or their friend) decided that they needed a cut, not because I wanted their hair cut. Their first trim was around a year or so. Regular trims will help the hair to grow faster and healthier.

My dd is 3.5 and has never had her hair cut but I love long hair on little girls. I think its a matter of taste, they don't NEED their hair cut, its whenever you want to.
