Any WOHM w/ LO in daycare delay, selective or not vaccinate at all?

DD2 is delayed(starting at 6 months or a yr) and will be selective vaxed as well. I know it can happen legally, we have an exemption ready to be filed. I guess I'm more worried about the risk of exposure to certain illness/disease. Any thoughts or experience on that

I work in a daycare and take my son with me, does that count? We don't vaccinate. We just have to have an exemption filed (which we don't actually have yet, I'm sure they'll make me get it on file soon).

We have our kids in a home daycare of about 6 children total. We selective vax, with some on time and some delayed, and it has never been an issue. If they ever needed an exemption though I would get one for them.

We've had DS1 in private Montessori and now part-time preschool since 7wks. It has never been a problem. In fact the director of his current preschool said her granddaughter is delay/selective vaxed. We have to get written consent that he is healthy enough to attend and we do provide a list of the vaccines he does have but otherwise its never been an issue. I guess this could vary by state but I'm not too familiar with how it works.

Well..to answer your question, yes. I am assuming you want details? My DD goes to a preschool and we don't vax at all but have an exemption on file. No big deal really.

Re: Any WOHM w/ LO in daycare delay, selective or not vaccinate at all?

My kids are both in daycare FT and are selective/delayed vaxed. There have been no issues. My kids are incredibly healthy. DH and I miss more work days for our own illnesses or for well-child-visits than for our children's illnesses. DD was in daycare FT from 5 mths-22 mths (when I was laid off) and again starting 1 mth b4 she turned 3. DS has been in daycare FT since 13 mths.

The hardest thing about it is finding a childcare that will accept the exemption. Public ones HAVE to, but Private ones do not (at least in CA). Our pre-school doesn't ask for vax info b/c the kids are there for less than 15 hours/wk. (Depending on age and class they are enrolled in, the time varies from 2 hrs-9 hrs/wk.) Our home daycare accepts exemptions with no issue. When we were searching for childcare, other daycares told us flat out that they would only accept our kids if we got them up to date on vaxes. Those daycares were immediately crossed off our list. It made for a longer search, but it was totally worth it. We love our dcp!

We delayed vax and the daycare never even asked. I think as long as they had some sort of immunization record they really didn't care about the rest. I don't think they can say you can't come to daycare but I think they have to monitor whose been vaccinated in case there is an outbreak of something. I'm not sure about that, I remember hearing it somewhere but since I can't remember where its not real reliable.
