please share your homemade yogurt recipes

just as the title says
DD loves yogurt but she doesn't like chunks of fruit. is there a way to flavor it without chunks of fruit?

we use jam, honey, pureed fruit.

i use the crockpot recipe to make it and then store it in glass with the fruit.

what fruits are best? I keep thinking strawberry but I know there are others that would be great.

do you have a link to the crockpot recipe?

blueberry, peach, mixed berries, pineapple, mango, papaya, kiwi, pear.

crockpot yogurt. its so easy!

Do you use whole milk? We just got WIC and get 10 gallons of milk! So I want to use the extra for some yogurt rather than buying yogurt for DD. The highest fat content we can get is 2%.

I have heard that whole milk and 2% work best but to NOT try it with anything less then that. I'm going to be making some yogurt for my kids too but will prob use 2%.

I get over 9 gallons of milk with WIC too. We use at least 2 gallons a month to make yogurt! Here is my recipe. Its super easy. I've heard others having problems with crockpot yogurt turning out runny. I've had success with both skim and 1% (we usually stick to this) turning out which is what wic gives us. It saves a TON of money. When I make a gallon of milk, it turns into 4 quarts and 1 pint of vanilla yogurt for us.

As for sweetening it: Jelly or jams, honey, mashed or pureed fruit, DD likes just a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips- for just a few she will eat a whole cup of yogurt so it's worth it to us!

I use the crockpot recipe. I strain it through coffee filters so it is thicker. I've always used whole milk. To flavor it, I use honey, pureed strawberries and peaches, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and vanilla and brown sugar.

well I used mabacon's way and used raw cow milk, it did not set at all and is now just sweet milk with a 1/4in layer of fat on top. what did i do wrong.
