do you have insurance for your business?
DH wants to get some in case we get sued..I'm thinking a retail diaper store isn't the riskiest as far as getting sued so I'm not too worried, but he's insisting. Your thoughts?

Re: do you have insurance for your business?
as manufacturers of products for little people don't we need to not only protect ourselves but in the event something would happen don't the parents of an injured child have a need too.
I don't make snapping diapers for a reason, but that does not mean I don't carry business insurance, I think it serves duel duty for all involved and is my responsibility as a manufacturer to carry it. I have had business insurance for about 5 years. I have discussed in great detail why I have removed some items from my product lineup including pul lunch bags that I made 4 years ago long before anyone else, snapping diapers and anything with smaller components used with children. I also had the underwriter here to inspect my stuidio space and fabric room.

Thanks. Do you think a store owner carries the same risk?

Re: do you have insurance for your business?
is it is your location the products come from you are telling the public I am selling you safe products, can you back that up? Just a thought
I do believe you should make sure that if you are wholesaling in that those providing you with products for retail have liability in place also. I can't make the call for you. I think your husband is wise to protect your assets and those on the receiving end of products. Plus, if you ever go out into the public, many places require that you have a 1/2 million in place to walk in their door, ya know incase a talble falls or a diaper bits a customer or something.

that's good to know. I'm pretty sure we're going to get it anyway, I was just curious how common this was and didn't want to spend more for a policy than I need to.

I can't imagine conducting business without it.

Re: do you have insurance for your business?
me either.
things have changed. first underwrite quit writing for little people like me. I found another underwriter and broker to write for me but the premium tripled. That was 3 years ago, it has not gone up since.
