I've only been around these parts 2 other times (with my two boys)

so forgive the intrusion.

I'm looking to hear stories from women who were late (like MUY late.. I'm currently 8 weeks late) but every time they POS they got negatives.

We ARE TTC right now (and have been for the last 4 months) but my first day of my last period was March 20th. Here it is May 25th and no AF. Not even a sign of AF. I have never had morning sickness and my body does not go into labor..like ever.. so those arn't reliable signs for me.

I've made an appointment to go to a new OB (the OB I had for both of my boys closed about a year ago) and hopefully have blood work done. I DO know that I feel like I've gained weight around my middle (although I'm more fluffy than not

so it's hard to tell). I just want some reassurence. With both of my boys I had BFPs quickly. I've burned through 20 strip tests in 2 months trying to know if this could be true or not.

Have you tried temping? It can help with knowing where you are at- like when you have had an anovulatory cycle or if you have ovulated and still have high temps.

We did 2 years of temping trying to get pregnant in 05. I was on metformin for a month before we figured out it was DH with the infertility issue (he had a varicose vein blocking traffic, IYKWIM). I've been regular for 5 years (barring pregnancies) so this is really kind of out of left field for us.

There is a situation called "the hook effect". It means that if you are too far along and the HCG levels are too high the pregnancy test will "go crazy" and give you a false negative. I am 8 weeks 3 days and last week I took a test (just wanted to see that DARK line again) and it was sooooooooooooooo faint I thought I was going to pass out! I googled it and found out about the hook effect. This happens a lot in twin pregnancies-because the hcg level is even higher.
I had an ultrasound done this Monday and found a very strong heartbeat at 161.
You need to get bloodwork done to make sure!

How does this work b/c last April first when I was VERY pregnant (DS was born May 6th) my BFF had me POAS so that she could play a VERY WRONG but funny April fool's joke on her DH. I did it and the test came up very positive, but its possible it was a digital test.

Some women don't filter enough HCG through their kidneys and bladders to register on an HPT. My SIL has three boys and never a positive home test.She just went for blood work each time.

My first pregnancy I didn't get a positive pregnancy test until I was 9 weeks pregnant. It was confirmed by ultrasound.

This is so very, very interesting and heart warming. I'd rather not go into it... but I can pray that this is true in my case. Thank you so very much for sharing.

I'm finding this thread very interesting. Last af was in March also and I keep getting bfn. I'm having a couple of signs but nothing on the tests...weird.

All other pregnancies have been text books so this has me very confused.
