Is a pocket with PUL any cooler than a pf covered with a PUL cover?
I'm trying to get the bottom of this. DS does not seem to like having a pf on. Yesterday he had some heat rash so I thought maybe he gets hot in PUL.
But today he peed a little and cried and I changed him to a pocket and he's happy. Maybe he just doesn't like feeling wet?

I don't think there's too much difference regarding heat, anytime there's PUL involved it's going to hold in more. Hard to say but at least you know what dipe makes him happy!

LOL thanks. I know sposies make him happy too but I want to figure out the cloth thing so I dont have to spend a ton on huggies.
so maybe it is the wetness he can't stand

It may be that he doesn't like the wet feeling. Pockets are stay-dry and the moisture wicks away into the insert. But with a prefold, he probably feels damp against his skin as soon as he wets the diaper. You could either keep using pockets or get a stay-dry liner to put in the prefolds.

It could also be the texture of the fabric. Pfs can sometimes be a bit rough while fleece & suedecloth are quite soft. But it's more likely to be the wetness.

I agree with the pps, probably wetness. I just cut up a fleece blanket from the thrift store and made a bunch of liners. DS doesn't seem to mind now :-)

thanks. I have some fleece liners lying around. I'll try that for now.
