So another thread got me thinking how many ultra sounds did you have while pregnant? I only had two one at 12 weeks and one at about 20 it was never suggested I have more. And I was on bed rest for the last few weeks with high bp. Just curious to see about everyone else.

I ended up having 4. I had the first one at 8w6d (the dating ultrasound, to make sure everything looked okay). Then I had the one around 20 weeks, where they look at the baby more closely. They had trouble seeing a few things and wanted a better look at his legs and kidneys, so we had another one scheduled a few weeks after that (he was totally fine). And then we had a 4-D ultrasound for fun, it was free. I'd have to look at the pictures to see when we did it, but I think it was around 27 or 28 weeks?

I had one. Just my 20 week gender scan and measuring.

Ds1-2 20 & 25 weeks
Ds2-2 15 & 20 weeks
Ds3-0 Opted not to have one

I had u/s @ 5w1d, 6w1d, 7w1d, 8w1d, 21w1d and 22w1d.

The first four were, b/c of a SCH. The 21w1d was the anatomy scan, and the 22w1d was, b/c DD wouldn't cooperate the week before.

It's varied with each pregnancy. With my oldest I started having monthly, and then weekly u/s starting at about 20 weeks. I'd had several before then, as well. I'm not sure how many in total.

With the next one I had a dating u/s because we didn't know when I concieved, and then a few more in the office to check things out. Then I started having monthly growth scans at about 25 weeks, and bi-weekly BPP's until I delivered.

With #3, I had a couple of early u/s's to check things out. a 20 week growth scan, 2 scans to check the pressure in the cerebral artery (I'm rh sensitized), and then she never made her kick counts, so I had multiple BPP's a week.

I'm high risk with various issues going on, so that's why I have so many. I usually have an early one, or a few, just to make sure I'm not going to have another m/c. And after the age of viability I have them a lot so they will know if they need to deliver me right away.

With my first, just the one at 20wk. My second I had one at 12w because we could not find the heart beat at our reg dr appointment. Then at 21 weeks that is when they found that she had tons of problems, then at 23w with the specialist to comfirm (club feet, and spina bifida) So then after that I had one at every appointment, so like 9 total, I think?
But then with my 3rd just one at 22wk

I think the normal is just 1 at about 20-22wk

First child-

9 weeks for spotting
13 weeks for NT scan
18 weeks for anatomy scan
34 weeks for PUPPPS

Second child:

I think my total was somewhere around 12-13 total. My first was at 6 weeks due to a suspected ectopic (which ended up being a burst cyst), and then I have had several due to bleeding and the fact that my oldest was IUGR. It was a high risk pregnancy and I was put off work at 32 weeks due to placental bleeding.

1 at 6w6d for dating and 1 at 18w3d for anatomy scan. They got everything so there probably won't be another.

3 with this pregnancy so far. 1 to confirm pregnancy then the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, but the baby didn't cooperate so I had to come back the next month and get another one.
