Diaper Swappers

I received a 12-pack of Gerber prefolds from DH's grandma (one of the few avid supporters of our decision to CD #3). It was very thoughtful, but I've read they are not good dipes. I have plenty of prefolds for the newbie and also lots of flats and old prefolds from #s 1 & 2 to use as burp cloths. Should I return them or are they not so bad after all?

DS and I had fun when we got some and tie dyed them. You can never have too many burp cloths, or rags.

We used ours for when we were co-sleeping (under DD's mouth) I leaked a bunch and hated to change the sheets

I have a couple kicking around that actually get used. I just used on because he needed some diaper cream but I didn't want any on his good prefold so I just laid it over. They are so thin they don't really bulk anything up.

I say return them and use the money for something else for you new LO like a cute outfit or toy.

We used them starting out w/ ds1 and I can say for sure, DON"T use w/ a snappi. The material is thin and tore his little hips all up. If it were me, I'd return them and use the money on some goodies to make cloth wipes and solution with or something. Maby the shampoo, tto, baby oil, and alovera. Should come close to covering some of those costs anyway. Or perhaps something you need like lanolin? That is if you have plenty of other pf's. That's just me though.

They work great for burp rags and when your done they work great dusting/cleaning cloths.

I have some Garanimal flats and have been wondering what to do with them. Don't mean to hijack this thread but I've been wondering if anyone thinks these are good for anything. I have a TON of burp rags already and since DS is already 6 months, we're not really needing those these days anyway. Love the tiedye idea but still don't know what I'd do with them. LOL

Honestly if they are the kind they sell at walmart, I would take them back. I used gerber prefolds when I first started cloth on my ds and they were horrible!

I use mine as burp cloths, hot pads to take things out of the oven, cleaning. I have used them in a pinch as a diaper if needed.

I find uses for them, and I have like 50. I did not know of anything else before I found diaper swappers.

I have used them as a doubler in a pinch. Not my fav, but they worked.
