tell people that you are pregnant?

For DS we waited until I started the 2nd trimester. We told immediate family when I was 8 weeks along. My sister is 7 weeks along and has told EVERYONE!
I feel like I'd rather wait to tell people because if something happens...which did for me in March. I was 7 weeks and miscarried. I told only my mother and MIL. I didn't want to deal with the pity I imagine people feel...that is JUST my OPINION. You do what you feel is best!

I'm too excited to wait too.
But I did however wait until I told the parents before I told anyone else. I figured they deserve to know first.

Second tri here as well. Or if we're lucky enough to hear the HB at our first prenatal (I'll be 9.5 weeks) maybe then. We didn't even get to hear the HB with DD until 12 weeks because at my 8 week appointment it was too early to hear it. (I don't get u/s just the Doppler).

ETA: I take that back. My mom knows. But we're uber close and she suffered many losses in her day (which is why I'm adopted) so she's great support.

We also wait till the 2nd tri. Or did with ds. . .I don't know, I feel more urge to tell this time. So a part of me just wants to start telling people now. But I'l likely wait till after our quad screening u/s that will happen around 11wks.

Sara--almost the same thing happened to me the first time! couldn't find hb at 9wks with doppler, I freaked out and thought something was wrong, but then had a u/s at 11wks and saw him swimming away like crazy!

I think we will wait until second trimester

I kind of don't want to tell the kids (DD is almost 5 and DS is 3 1/2) until I am showing, I am not sure why it just seems like a good time to tell them. But I am really bad at keeping things secret so I will most likely blurt it out

We have always told people right away. We can't help ourselves. We just told my family today and I got my BFP on Thurs.

With my daughter, we told people the same day I got a BFP....it was Christmas and we had tried for 7 months....couldn't wait. We talked about not saying anything till later this time around but if I ever miscarry, I won't hide it. I won't look forward to pity and won't try to get any, I just know for me personally, I wouldn't mind telling people. So I guess that's why we don't mind telling people of the BFP early on. Also, I usually get very sick and that's super hard to hide when all my family lives in the same town.

Last time we told our parents right away, and everyone else at 14 weeks (Christmas Day). This time we are waiting a while to tell our parents. We'll probably announce to everyone at my DS's first birthday party on June 26th if all goes well with my dating ultrasound a few days prior (I'll be 8 weeks).

we usually tell after we see the Hb on ultrasound, so it has been anywhere between 9-11 weeks. i always want to wait until I finish the first tri, but Dh can't wait any longer, he is terrible with secrets.
