Re: Ultrasound?

I was only supposed to have one for each, but ended up with more.

#1-3 total
9w5d-bleeding, never did figure out the cause
19w5d-anatomy scan
34w3d-I had this huge lump at the top of my belly on the left side, so my dr wanted to see if it was a head or a butt. It was neither. It was a 6cm fibroid!

#2-
8w5d-massive bleeding, turned out to be a SCH
18w-anatomy scan
22w-follow up anatomy because they couldn't see his spine completely

Hopefully, we will have no more with this one, but he seems to be constantly switching positions, so we shall see, I guess.

I usually get 1-3. Just depends on if there is anything to worry about or not.

Re: Ultrasound?

With DD I had an early dating one at 9 weeks, a 20-week anatomy scan, and then 3 or 4 more in my third trimester due to measuring small (monitoring for IUGR, which thankfully she didn't have).

With DS I had 4. An early dating one, a 12-week NT scan, a 20-week anatomy, and one in my 3rd trimester due to measuring small. Thankfully after DD they knew that I just tend to measure small and only wanted to do the one scan in my 3rd trimester as opposed to the whole IUGR scare with DD.

Re: Ultrasound?

One in my 1st pregnancy, one in my 2nd pregnancy (which I lost and found out via ultrasound), one in my 3rd pregnancy. I can't remember how many I had in my third pregnancy, but it was at least 4...he was suspected to have a birth defect. I had two in my 5th pregnancy, but the last one was only to check position right before birth. I had a lot of fluid and my midwife could never really quite tell which way he was positioned.

Re: Ultrasound?

4, one dating at 8 weeks, one dating 12 weeks, I hated the first doctor and the new doctor wanted their own results, 20 week and one about 34 weeks to check placement, there was some debate if he was breech or not, I was right they were wrong

Re: Ultrasound?

I had 4 with DS, around 14, 20, 34 and 40 weeks. I'm not sure why on the 14, the 34 was to make sure the placenta had moved up because it had been low-lying at 20 weeks, and the 40 week was to check position.

With DD, I had one at 20 weeks. I like that better.
