I know what your thinking, I would just as a precaution, get him an appt with the ped to be checked out. It is more likely nothing but to ease your mind, get him checked.

I think it's just the lighting, but if you're worried, definitely get him checked out.

I get these every so often with my kids, and I know it's nothing because DD1 wears glasses and has had several visits with an opthamologist. I think the worry is every picture every time. Do a little more research and make an appointment if you still feel unsure.

This. It looks like lighting, aka the flash. It's probably nothing, but I totally understand being freaked out!

I understand your worry I do think if it's just one picture, it's almost for sure just lighting. If it was multiple pictures, especially from more than one day, I would worry. But there's nothing wrong with getting it checked out just to be sure, either.

I don't get it.... What's the worry about it? Something to do with vision I'm assuming??

It can be the first sigh of retinoblastoma. It's rare but scary.

It's lighting...common with compact digital cameras when the flash is directly aimed at the face and it lights up the retinal blood vessels. I wouldn't worry at all.
