when washing/lanolizing wool soakers, do you need to change the water each time?

I have 3 soakers and 1 pair of shorties. Do I need to change the water/lanolin each time for each pair?

thanks!

I think it depends on if the stuff is dyed. I made the mistake of washing a soaker that was dyed in koolaid (had no idea until I asked the maker) in the same water as some other pieces of wool. Needless to say, my Babyology longies, a BJM soaker and a few more pieces were completely ruined with dye stains. I learned....I won't be doing that anymore, lol.

A koolaid soaker I had once didn't bleed that bad. Everything in red seems to bleed, though. Not good if you have a boy.

This one was a dark, deep blue....and now about 4 pieces in my wool stash have blue dye stains on them and they are REALLY noticeable...even on my green recycled longies, lol.

As long as the wool doesn't bleed, it shouldn't be a problem washing together

I had a brown soaker, a dark-color striped one and a deep red and creamy white one... the red didn't bleed at all, the blue a tiny bit, but the brown soaker was AWFUL. It bled a weird silver blue color and ruined my other soakers. I never suspected it, it hadn't happened before and it wasn't the first wash... I guess maybe my water was warmer than usual? I say unless you *know* it doesn't bleed, lanolize like colors together. just to be on the safe side.

I do mine in the same water, but I do the ones that bleed last. I haven't had problems with the koolaid dyed one after the first few washes, just the dark wool
