Wrestling with name for vintage shop

I have had an etsy shop in the works for quite a while now. My plan is to sell vintage items. Mostly baby/children's clothing, but some adult clothes, stationery items, etc. To start with I plan to stick with items that I can ship in a poly mailer bag. ANYWAY- I have been having the worst time coming up with a name for my shop. I have a list of ideas, but everyone has a different opinion on which is best, and I just don't know how I feel!

Would you mind voting and giving your opinions, mamas?

Here are my own thoughts on the top names:

1. My Favorite Dinosaur. I like this because "dinosaur" conveys the "old stuff" aspect of vintage in a cute way, also it makes me think about a little kid who loves dinosaurs being his mom's favorite dinosaur. My concern is that it is too cutesy and I am maybe going for a slightly more refined/hip image.

2. Vinegar Vintage. I love vinegar! On my food, as a cleaning product. I also feel like it has an old-timey image, and the alliteration is good. A couple of folks have expressed concern about the name, though, because vinegar is smelly and you don't want people thinking about smelly stuff when they are buying vintage clothing from you, ya know?

3. Sweet Frites Boutique. I wanted a name related to french fries, my favorite food, and a friend suggested this. I like the sound of it and the rhyming is good, but fries aren't really sweet so I feel like it's a little weird.

Re: Wrestling with name for vintage shop

I personally do not like anything with 'sweet' or 'boutique' in the name - it sounds cheesy to me.

I like the idea of using 'vintage' in the name though. I am not creative enough to think of anything at the moment but if you come up with anymore I will gladly share my opinion! Keep thinking, it will hit you!

I like My Favorite Dinosaur but it does sound kind of kidish. I'm not very creative though to come up with something else.

If something is a dinosaur in slang it is old, outdated and obsolete. I wonder if these thoughts will come to people about your store with this choice. Just a thought, maybe Forever Fluff?

Maybe there are other Vintage things, besides vinegar or dinosaurs, that conjure up more pleasant thoughts?

Personally I do not find any of the names appealing I'm not feeling the creativity at the moment, though, so can't think of any alternative names that I like! Maybe "Viva la Vintage" or something like that

Re: Wrestling with name for vintage shop

sorry, but I really didn't like any of them either...dinosaurs are too cutesy, vinegar reminds me of having a bad taste in my mouth and the third one sounds too generic. I hope you find something soon!

How about "Favorite Vintage"? Vintage for old and vintage as in wine.

I don't like them either. I think the name should showcase your stuff, not the sellers personality. I liked forever fluff. But I guess it would be more what your selling specific, and who u r selling to. I think DS mamas would get forever fluff. Idk about gen pop.

Re: Wrestling with name for vintage shop

What about "Verily Vintage."

Verily is an "old" word, and Vintage means old. It flows....Verily Vintage.

My Favorite Dinosaur: Sounds like it's a kid's shop. I wouldn't think "vintage" if I saw that name.

Vinegar Vintage: Like you, I LIKE vinegar, the name makes me think of Salt and Vinegar chips, or that tangy smell of vinegar, but I'm not sure it'll attract business to your store the way you want.

Sweet Frites Boutique.... Doesn't say anything about what you sell. If I was in a curious mood, I may stop in to see what you had, but it wouldn't "grab me" and scream "COME IN COME IN AND BIUY VINTAGE."

God bless!
