need some advice with the dr sears vaccine schedule.

We have followed it to a tee until the other day at dd's 1 yr appt. At 1, they are supposed to get polio and mumps, according to the sears schedule. Well, our office said that they don't have the separate stuff for the mmr, that you have to do it combined. So we got her polio and left with that. So now what do I do?

I'm not totally sure what advice to give you but just wanted to throw it out there. Nowhere in the US can you get MMR seperate anymore. After all the vaccine hoopla "they" (I don't remember who) did a study and actually showed it safer to do the combo then seperate.

Our naturopath also said the same thing. We don't vax but I enjoy talking to her about it and picking her brain. HTH some.....not the answer you wanted but it is what it is.

I know here you can have the pedi order it from a local compound pharmacy, that way it is separate.

As far as I know, the individual vaccines are no longer manufactured and sold in the U.S.

Re: need some advice with the dr sears vaccine schedule.

The research I did indicated that the shots were no longer available separate in the US. Of course that was at least a year ago so maybe things have changed.

We delayed my daughters MMR until age 3. My husband wanted to do it at age 2 but every time we were going in she had a cold. It was very important to me that she be healthy when she got that shot. I was also reluctant to do it too early because of some of the side effects. I think we will wait until 3 for my son also.

We had to sign a sheet at daycare saying that we were delaying it and knew the risks.

Re: need some advice with the dr sears vaccine schedule.

Are there multiple Dr. Sears' schedules? I always find different ones when I try to look them up.

Sorry to hijack

We are waiting until age 5 to get the MMR for our kids. I dont think you can find them separate anymore.
