Thanks! New to CDing and just recently came across the microfiber stink. Veer helpful!!!

Re: The No Stink, No Complications Laundry Solution!

Thanks! I was going to give up cloth diapering before I started due to stink and yeast issues people brought up. Until this thread!

I get amazed that people think microfiber eventually stops being absorbent? really? I've been using the same ones in a small nighttime rotation for almost 3 years. The absorb the same. I'm thinking build up!

Re: The No Stink, No Complications Laundry Solution!

This is an awesome thread. I just started CD'ing and while I have no issues right now, it has only been 2 weeks! I keep wondering how my diapers are getting clean if I'm using a tablespoon of super expensive detergent!

When you all talk about tide, do you mean the original or free and clear. I use tide pods on our clothing. Anyone use those on their CD?

Anyway, thanks for the thread!

For those dealing with allergy or sensitivity issues, try liquid detergent instead of powder. Our allergist has always recommended using liquid detergent only since powders can be harder to wash out.

When my older girls were in cloth diapers, we always washed in liquid All Free for about 7 years. We only stopped since they learned to use the potty. We did occasionally washed with Purex Free liquid or Arm & Hammer Free liquid if the store was out of the All Free. They couldn't tolerate any Tide products. We still own & use those fitteds that I bought in 1999 & 2000, (as well as PUL covers) washed in liquid All Free for years & they are still in excellent fully usable condition 13 years later.

Now we've been washing with liquid Tide or liquid Tide Free for over 3 years now with out problems, no stink, no build up. I just do one load with Liquid Tide to the 2 line, a second load with nothing added & then 2 extra rinses. Nothing else added.

When are you adding the bleach? In the pre-wash/rinse or with the detergent? I have an HE machine. Those that are a mix of fitteds/pf's/pul aio's are saying the pul aio's are fine with the bleach?

I would like to know this too. I have never bleached my dipes because I have never needed to, but if I do need to one day, will bleach hurt anything? Obviously not cotton or bamboo or anything, but is is ok to use with PUL covers and AIO's with PUL? Also, won't it leave bleach spots on the colored dipes? I am a bleach newbie apparently as I never use it for laundry. We just use Sun Oxygen cleaner with the dipes and regular laundry.
