poo + wool = help!!!

ARRRGGGHHH! So we got a cute cover as our first venture into wool. and we had an unexpected "2nd poo" and it was a big one now our nice new wool cover has poo all over it, so badly that it leaked through to the outside. DH says this should mean no more wool, since what good is a diaper DS can't poo in, which is a line of logic I find it hard to argue with... HELP, what do I do with poo in wool????

You can wash it like you would any wool cover. I use the CJ's Wool Wash, really easy and works great! You can scrub the area gently with a wet wash cloth if not all the poo comes out with general washing.

Relax! Poop happens, even on wool.
Put the dirty woolies (poop side out) in a sink of luke-warm water and let it soak for 10-20 minutes. If it needs a little more effort, use a woolie wash bar (I prefer Ewe Need It) and lightly scrub the spot. Squish some water through to rinse it, and it should be good as new.

Re: poo + wool = help!!!

the poo explosion is more the diaper's fault, not the wool's . I only use wool and we have had poop stains and tons of food stains on the outside....I just hand wash them in a basin with some liquid castile soap. Easy peasy!

and if it is wool interlock, I toss it in the washing machine.

Re: poo + wool = help!!!

You can use baby shampoo and nipple lanolin if you don't have any good wool wash. Soak the wool, wash with the shampoo and then melt (microwave) and blob of lanolin (like lanisohl) and pour it into the water. Let the wool soak in the lanolin.

Pooh does get on wool, but luckily it really does wash like new. Good luck!

Wash that sucker on HOT in the washer and let it agitate really well and then do a very hot rinse Don't be afraid! It will work much better than soaking alone lol...
