I am glad that your DD will be comfortable, but I'm sorry that it had to be at the expense of harmony of your relationship with SO.

Maybe after he thinks about it calmly for a few days, he'll realize that you were right.

Sorry you had to go through heck with SO. I can sort of understand where he is coming from especially since even you want your MIL involved. But for what it is worth I agree with your decision too - even if MIL was the best childcare provider in the world - your baby doesn't know her and will probably be scared and crying which will make you worry the entire time (like you wouldn't already

). Plan some fun stuff with MIL during the day and then enjoy your evening.
