Would you name your LO Koa?

Sorry mama, I think it's a trend now to not tell anyone the name until after the baby is born, because other opinions can ruin it. I voted no, but it made me think of the name Cohen, which I love for a boy.

My cousin's name is Nakoa, which I think is beautiful. My cousin is a girl, but I'm pretty sure Nakoa is originally a boy's name.

Koa is a type of hardwood, to me. It's very prized and quite beautiful.

My DS1 is Nakoa, and his nickname is Koa. I loved the meaning, and uniqueness. Growing up, I hated being one of many in a class sharing the same name...

I was actually really bummed when Lisa Bonet named her son Nakoa in 2009...b/c I like that no one really has that name and didn't want others to know about it. But maybe it's gaining in popularity a bit?

I also know of a Makoa and Toccoa.

My friend's dog is named Koa, so that is the first thing to come to mind. I like the pp's suggestion of Cohen.

But if you like the name, and it has a special meaning (your hubby's name translated) then go for it!
