Tie-Dye Prefolds?

Hey mama's!! I have some prefolds that I would like to dye and I also got this idea of tie-dyeing some onsies but, Im at total loss of what kind of dye to use.. What kind of dye do you use to dye your prefolds and where did you get it? Is it just regular dye or a certain specific kind only and how many times do you wash afterwards before the baby can use it? Thanks!!

Thanks! So I just go to walmart and look for a kit called rainbow rocks? Should I just ask the people at walmart..does it have to be this brand? Is regular dye harmful to babies skin

Re: Tie-Dye Prefolds?

We used dylon dyes for ours The colors stay brite and they hardly bleed at all Here are some pics

And just because she is cute

ETA: The first pic was taken right after they were dyed (and washed) and the pic of them all stacked up was taken after a few months of use. The colors really do stay bright

Re: Tie-Dye Prefolds?

I recommend Dylon. You can get it at WalMart or JoAnns. Here's a link for how to dye with Dylon.

and a link for the dipes that I did following the tutorial...

Good Luck.
