washing prefolds
Do you need to be as careful washing prefolds as you do with pockets and fittedes? I'm getting annoyed with all the stink/leak/etc. issues with my BG3.0 pockets and am thinking of switching to all prefolds and Flip covers.
Thanks for you input! |

Re: washing prefolds
I'd say no. PFs wash up easier than most other diapers (except flats - since they're only one layer). If you're just going to tri fold it might be better to get flats. You could pad fold them.

Re: washing prefolds
No! that is one of the beauties of simple prefolds....Even better is flats, you can pad fold just like a prefold and they dry quicker and wash even easier.
If it wasn't for daycare needing AIO/pockets, I wouldn't own any!

Re: washing prefolds
I have had my prefolds for 4 years and they were originally used as burp cloths. After that, as rags to soak up all the bath water my kids were splashing out of the tub. And now they have been pressed back into service for their intended purpose, diapers. They have had rough washing treatment with any ol' detergent I had on hand, sanitize wash (high high temps) a lot of times, and still look nearly brand new.

Re: washing prefolds
Of course! I have prefolds as burb cloths and they take a beating. Why wouldn't they be the same? Time to get my brain back in gear again.
Thanks!
