Wool Question

So I am going to be making a cocoon set for the new one. It calls for Wool-Ease Thick and quick, which I know would not work for a soaker because it is only 20% wool, right? It is weight category 6 Super Bulky. Is there another yarn I could use in that weight category so I don't have to alter the pattern? Could this even work as a soaker?

Re: Wool Question

My only idea is to use multiple strands of a worsted or something, but I don't know how many... but I'd love to know others' ideas!

How would it look working a couple of strands together? I am making this in nb size which, if this one is like my last one, will fit for a week. I may not make this a soaker and use a sleepy soaker pattern I found to make some.

Re: Wool Question

I've made a few scarves that way, and it basically looks like 2-ply yarn once knit. But it does take a bunch of yarn. I almost tried one once for a soaker, but also just used another pattern I had that used worsted instead. If you have a couple matching skeins of something you could knit up a tiny little test swatch to see if it's the right size or if you like the look... ??

I have a feeling for bulky you'd need 3 strands, but that might be too much... you'd probably have to test to find out.
