Re: Baby is no longer alive but I still have rising HCG levels... Need Advice!

Amy, thanks for the encouragement I can't remember exactly... I "think" they were approx. 200,000 and rose in a week to approx. 250,000. I can't remember the exact numbers they told me....

My hcg levels rose after my loss, for awhile. There was no hope for me though, I had already passed my baby. But the process was this: until my hcg levels were less than 5, I got blood draws weekly, followed up with ultrasounds, if needed. I refused d&c's as I try to be as natural as I can be with my body. So It took alllloooonnggg time to get that low of a reading.. I think it took about 40 days AFTER passing the baby. My midwives were supportive and respected my choice to wait. Gl. I'm sorry about ur loss

your dr are a fluke and baby is fine. If you feel something is wrong please make them redo the tests.

I just talked to the doctors office and I have an appointment in the morning to talk to the doctor about my options. I have been mostly dealing with my midwife until this point and she has basically written me off to the doctor they use for these things and said it is up to him. Hopefully he will be cooperative!

I will stand firm on the fact that I want an U/S first if they insist on a D & C! Thank you so much for helping me feel confident enough to stand up for it... Sometimes doctors can be so intimidating!
What you're asking is not unreasonable at all. I would definitely insist on another u/s before a d and c.
