Re: Is this normal?

Ditch the onesies!! If you use regular t-shirts there won't be anything for the pee to wick onto. At least in my experience, they did not wick onto pants/shorts the same way they do on a onesie.

Re: Is this normal?

p.s. romper styles and other one-piece suits are great for this reason--they don't ride up but they also aren't right next to the gussets wicking moisture.

The onesies do give something for the moisture to wick onto and ALSO they are probably compressing the microfiber, causing it to leak. I think this is why shorts and rompers work better.

You can simply snip off the onsie part to make t-shirts. They won't unravel. And its free!

If you have to go longer in between changes, say when you are out, etc. use a hemp or hemp fleece insert. this will hold a TON more than MF. Also, snap the onesie just in the middle - that will leave the other fabric away from the diaper;s edge,

Don't feel bad mama, you learn as you go. It's much harder to learn when the people around you are telling you the wrong things. You found us and you're in good hands now.
If it doesn't kill you to do so I second cutting off the bottom of the onesie to make a shirt.
