Co-sleeper or bassinet?

I had been wanting to get an Arm's Reach (or similar) Co-sleeper for DD when she was little, but we ended up not really being able to splurge on one.

I'm trying to decide whether to get one for this baby (our bed is too small to co-sleep in) or to just use DD's Pack & Play which has a raised bassinet attachment.

What would people recommend?

See if you can get a used co-sleeper on craigslist for cheap. They are great.

Re: Co-sleeper or bassinet?

Yeah, I know 2 people who have gotten practically new co-sleepers on CL for cheap. We bought a full size one with our second baby and it's been great. We used the pack-n-play bassinet the first time, and it was harder to get her in and out from bed, and also the bassinet is only supposed to be used to 15 pounds. With the cosleeper, it's practically level with the bed, and the weight limit is I think 35 pounds. It's been great and I wish we had had it the first time. The baby is still right there, but not right in the bed (we coslept with #1 for 2 years). Every has their own space, but we're still together!

Love the arms reach co sleeper! I have owned everything out there, and this is the easiest and works perfect!

Re: Co-sleeper or bassinet?

I got a practically new Arm's Reach Mini off Craigslist (plus 2 sets of sheets and the leg extensions) for $40. I love love love mine even though DS does end up sleeping in bed with me for at least part of most nights. DS was over 15 lbs within 8 weeks so I'm glad we didn't go with a PNP.

Re: Co-sleeper or bassinet?

I'm doing a PnP this time around. I used a bassinet last time and DD outgrew it pretty fast. Plus a PnP is so useful. So I'll have one down stairs and upstairs for this one.

Re: Co-sleeper or bassinet?

I used the full size Arms Reach cosleeper and still use it as a play pen for naps and my dd is 18 months old. Luckily, I found a cl deal where it came with extra sheets and leg extenders. Another nice feature is that it is fairly easy to travel with too.

I bought one new and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I'm wondering how long I can keep DD in it!! I wish I could have found one on CL...

I had a PNP for DD and DFS. For DD2, I have the mini arms reach and it is AWESOME. Seriously, I love it. I would definitely get the cosleeper. They are on my Craigslist all the time.
