cool mist humidifier recommendations

I don't want to spend a huge amount of money but I want something that works.
Also, what's better, filter or filterless?

we have a filterless one. Well, it has a filter but you just rinse it off and re-use it. It's not one where you have to buy a filter every time. I bought ours from Walmart. There were 3 and we bought the middle priced one. Works great! I'll try to find you the link. I think it was around $20

Very, I usually just use soap/water and a scrubby pad. Its smaller so it fits in the sink or bathtub. Not a big deal. Worst case, use vinegar.

Actually, if I'm in Hawaii where it's pretty hot and humid, would a dehumidifier work better?
DS (4 mo) just started coughing and DD (3 yrs) has been coughing for a month now. Antibiotics didnt work for her. Liquid albuterol worked a little. the nebulizer works best.

Re: cool mist humidifier recommendations

In the summer/humid, you use a dehumidifier. Dry/cold, humidifier. So, a dehumidifier probably is better. We do both. In the summer we run the dehumidifier and it helps a lot but be careful not to over do it as then things get dry. I put my diapers to dry near it as it basically sucks out moisture and it works great.

I wouldn't use one if it's humid. But we have a crane. It works great, has been through 2 kids.
