How long do you keep lunchmeat?

I have some ham that has been in the fridge probably 6 days. Is it good for a week?

IF there are preservatives in there, its good for a long long time.

Ummm, practically forever . Like a pp said, if it is "normal" lunchmeat then it is packed with preservatives that will make it keep for a long time.

If it's all natural, preservative free, etc though, I'd give it the sniff test before using.

I buy the non-preservative kind so throw it out after a few days. That said, I find ham lasts the longest of the meats. Sniff test!

We never keep it longer than a few days, I cant eat it once it gets all slimy, ugh

smell it! if it smells bad, then it's bad. if it smells ok, taste a small piece, and if it tastes ok... it's probably fine .

How do you get lunch meat to last for 6 days!? LOL

My DH and kids can eat a pound of lunch meat the second it comes through the door!

I throw any left overs out at a week. Mine smells sour by then

About 1 week maybe a little less. I have never really done the sniff test though. LOL

It should have an expiration date on it somewhere. I don't eat lunch meat past the date or if it smells or if it's slimy. A week seems to be average. If it was sliced at the deli, ask next time you go. We don't buy fresh sliced deli meat because of cross contamination.
