A little worried... Bottles?

Dd is 3 weeks and I have to go back to work when she is 6 weeks. We have tried avent and breastflow bottles. She dislikes both... I'm worried she's not going to take a bottle and I have to go back to work... Ugh what am I gonna do...
Dd1 was always really good about taking anything that was given to her (breast and any bottle)

Who is giving her the bottles? I would have DH try. Sometimes LO's don't want to take it from mama. They want the real deal

Oh dh is definitely the one giving her bottles. And she disliked them just as much with him and she does when I try to give her one...

Re: A little worried... Bottles?

I tried every bottle under the sun for DS and he would only take the really cheap Gerber preemie bottles. They are like $2 for 3 of them. When he got a bit older he started preferring the Green to Grow bottles, which are my favorite as well.

My daughter was the same way. What we ended up doing was I left for the day and my husband kept offering the bottle. Six tortuous hours later, she accepted the bottle.

A baby isn't likely to starve itself, so eventually they'll give in. It may sound mean, but we wanted to be assured she would take a bottle before we left her daycare.

She does prefer BreastFlow bottles, but would probably drink out of any if she was hungry enough.

Good luck!

Re: A little worried... Bottles?

We use breastflow now after trying a few others. I've heard good things about adiri bottles too, which were going to be my next option if the breastflow didn't work. DH did have to try for about an hour to get DS to take it.

I was so anxious about him taking a bottle before I went back to work too. Hang in there.

Mine have done great with Playtex nursers with slow flow Naturalatch nipples. I've had better luck with the latex nipples which are softer and easier for my baby to latch onto. The silicone ones didn't work so well for us.
