I am 4w4d. I have cramped really bad today. Tonight, dd1 woke up throwing up, then I went to pee and was bleeding. It was more than spotting but less than a period. Bright red with some dark red and some slimy discharge. I have never bled in my other 2 pregnancies at all, so this threw me off. Should I be concerned?

UPDATE:
I had to take dd1 to the doctor, and coming home, cramping got worse. I am now bleeding like day 1 of AF, but no clots yet. Had to put a Diva Cup in. 2 more hours until my doctor appointment and I am terrified. I've been reading that severe cramps and bright red blood like this is not a good sign. A friend of mine already said to me, "Guess it just wasn't time yet." I love her dearly, but that didn't go over well with me.

UPDATE:
Ultrasound showed nothing. Urine test +, but barely. Did blood work today, and go back Saturday for more. Will get results on Monday. Bleeding very heavily now and cramping very bad.

6/24 update:
Bloodwork from last night showed hcg at 13. Should be much higher at almost 5 weeks. Woke up feeling like I was in labor, but ok at the moment. I will get through this!

Re: Cramping/bleeding normal?

That's a tough one - bleeding occurs in 1 out of every 3 pregnancies. I had bright red spotting/bleeding shortly after I got pregnant, I had some erosion on my vaginal walls, which is normal after having 2 babies. So it could be nothing, but if it continues I would go in just to make sure.

Re: Cramping/bleeding normal?

I would take another pregnancy test in a day or two and see what it looks like. It's possible you might have miscarried, but it could also be implantation (I had bright red bleeding this time around and thought I had my period, was even using tampons, and was shocked when I took a test when something was 'off'). . I went to visit my doctor and they did beta-HCG levels to check if they were rising properly since bleeding can be a sign of ectopic.

Re: Cramping/bleeding normal?

Well, I'm pretty sure implantation happened around 11 days ago, since I'm charting. I had a huge temp dip and a tiny bit of brown spotting for 2 days. This was more like "bloody show." It was not a period, but more than spotting. I am cramping like day 1 of my period (just like yesterday) and have had a few sharp pains in my vagina. I had some sharp pains in my side and cramping in my back last night and this morning. I had a bit of an uncomfortable "twinge" in my right shoulder this morning, too. Nothing big, though. My DH got up and went to work (30 minutes away). Dd1 was up puking all night, so no one is going to want to watch her for me so I can go get checked out. Not to mention, we haven't even told our families yet, so I don't know who I could get to babysit. This morning, when I wipe, it's brown/pink, but not "bleeding" like it was last night. I have never bled in pregnancy before, so this is very strange for me.

I would get checked out. While it stil very likely could be normal, I find the shoulder pain a little alarming because it can signal an ectopic pregnancy. As for finding someone, if you don't want to tell them what is going on, just tell them you aren't feeling well and need a sitter so you can go to the doctor.

Re: Cramping/bleeding normal? - Possible loss mentioned. UPDATE in OP

DH is coming home and I haven't had any more shoulder issues since this morning. I honestly wonder if it wasn't how I was laying.
