Best cloth nursing pads for heavy leaker....

Hi, I am expecting baby #2 in 3 weeks, and I am trying to figure out which cloth nursing pads to buy. With number one, I leaked a TON.....and I tried the cheap Gerber kind, and woke up soaking wet!! I did also use disposables, but I really hated how they felt all clammy.

I have heard really good things about wool nursing pads. Which is the best brand/type to get? Are they difficult to care for? Also, what about the Bravado nursing pads w/ the Airmax layer.....are those any good for big leaks??

I would like to try a couple different kinds, but I do not want to spend tons of money and find out they don't work for me. Also, how many pairs of cloth nursing pads should I get.....I will be tandem nursing.

Thanks!

Heavy leaking requires hemp definitely. I got some from happy heinys that are hemp..super thin but very absorbant. Also some nice thick hemp fleece ones are great for overnight!

Get 2 pairs of the lana wool nursing pads. You use one while the other dries. These saved me, I leaked a ton. Get the thick ones for home, if you can spend a little extra get 2 pairs of the thin ones for when you are out. They are super soft felted wool, you will love them and you never have to wash in the washer just by hand after they start to get stiff from dried milk. I can't stress how much better these are then the cloth kind. They do have to be the lana kind. I got another brand of wool pads I think maybe imese vimese and they were thin and itchy. Hope this helps.

I don't remember where I got mine. I think one or two pairs were from an internet store and my other two from ebay. I will do a search and see if I come up with anything. They shouldn't be too hard to find.

Re: Best cloth nursing pads for heavy leaker....

Here are some sites I found by doing a google search

http://www.mamadearest.ca/catalog/pr...?products_id=4

http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_...roducts_id=124

http://www.thestorkwearhouse.com/nurspads.htm

http://www.danishwool.com/

I had 2 med Ekstra types and 2 med Originals. I probably was at least a DD cup size after my milk came in and I found these to be big but way comfortable. Good luck and LMK if you have any more questions.

I'm using a product called Milk Diapers. Can't remember where I got them but they have a waterproof front that contains the leaks. I didn't buy them until after my leaking settled a bit, but I really like them. They are a little bulky but I find under the two layer nursing shirts they are ok.
