thank you everyone for your replies.. I moved it away from the bight and it worked, now to see how it installs in dh's fiesta yikes!
I ended up scoring a roundabout super cheap so I plan on just using that in my van

The 2006-2008 or so Siennas were nit Radian friendly as they have advanced air bags and thus the seat can't brace.
Check your manual

I loathe installing our Radian RFing. Ours reclined like that too, no matter what we did really. It just doesn't work RFing well in all cars, imo. I would just try to sit it higher up and try to install it, but you might have to get something else if it just doesn't fit right in there.
