Clear, watery spit-up?

DS is almost 4mos old and is ebf. A couple of days ago, he started spitting up clear, very water-like spit up. And quite a bit of it at a time. It's not after every feeding, but it is several times a day. He doesn't seem to be phased by it, but it is rather alarming since it's SO MUCH of it. Should I be concerned?

I heard this is extra milk. Like they get too much and spit up the excess. This is what I found when I was looking up the same on Google once.

Sent from my Droid using DS Forum...so please excuse any weird auto corrections ;-)

Re: Clear, watery spit-up?

This isn't like his normal, milky spit up though?

Re: Clear, watery spit-up?

Could just be the whey (clear watery portion of her milk) since the cassien is the heavier cream-colored part of the milk which tends to stay down better. My son spit up the whey pretty frequently when he was younger if I wasn't getting enough lean healthy protein and fat in my diet. If she's really concerned, she could just put a call in to the nurse at her pedi's office to find out if there's cause for alarm. I called my son's pedi FREQUENTLY for the first 3 months or so just bc ds is my 1st (currently only) child and I was unsure what was cause for panick and what wasn't. Oh, and if her lo's getting a lot of gas during a feeding, the gas could be what's causing it to come up, as well. Hope this helps.

God Bless!
