Re: Just nursed ds....

Yep, been there. Two day road trip from Austin to Chicago. In an effort to just freaking get there, I definitely nursed my son in his carseat while DH drove through St. Louis.

I did that sooo often with my MDD. I always sat in the back with her and nursed her because she hated the car so badly. I was usually seat belted in. Not sure how it would work in our mini van since she is in one of the middle bucket style seats. :/

Yeah, ds HATES the car seat! I wouldn't do it much but yeah, he was hungry and there was really nowhere else to stop on the side and we also had an appointment to meet someone at our destination at a certain time. Might have to do it again on the way back. An hour drive I would just stop and pull over but it was a 4 hour drive!

Re: Just nursed ds....

Yeah, I did it several times with my son. But have since learned it's pretty unsafe, so I won't do it again. Can't imagine getting in a crash and having my whole body weight smashing into my daughter. It's hard, too, cause my daughter is a major screamer in the car... I'm SO not looking forward to our 12 hour trip (without kids, so much longer with them) next month. Sometimes it's so stressful being a parent and deciding what's best!

I would never do this. If someone else hit you, you would crush the baby. It just isn't worth it. We pull over, take the baby out, and nurse.

Agreed. The only thing I did while moving was pump and offer a bottle.
