Quick, How do I apply gentian violet?

Ok so I gave myself the whammy talking about how much I LOOOOVE breastfeeding. I have yeast and a plugged duct. I have nursed for many years and never had yeast. Please help??? I called frantically all over town to find some on July 4th eve. What do I do with this stuff?

I tucked a prefold under my breasts(for any dripping), and applied GV with a q-tip, never reusing the same end twice.

I did the same. Q-tip, don't double swab or dip. Once that tip touches you consider it contaminated with yeast. I did my nipples and my dd mouth. Only had to do one application and the yeast was gone. DD looked a bit goth but it was a cool look. I was on the banana flavored stuff from the doctors for like 2 months and it did nothing. The GV worked perfectly.

Yup. I just swabbed myself with a cotton swab and then let my son nurse to apply it to him, too. I've heard you can get too much in baby's mouth if you apply directly, but letting them nurse after worked well for us.

dilute it though, it's usually like 1% I think, but only needs 0.5% (I just added boiled water 1:1)
used a q-tip, tried not to contaminate my mixture... but I made my little dilution in another container, like 1/8 tsp of each

remember, it stains, let it air dry and even when it's dry I'd use nursing pads 'cause it stains

oh yeah and it stains LOL

--- I also got some on a q-tip and rubbed it in LO's mouth. he wasn't too happy about that but it flourishes there too
