Re: Scared to Trifold
My first 3 Littles only ever had a tri-folded pre-fold with a Bummis Super Whisper Wrap cover. Pee never leaked and I think maybe poop escaped 2-3 times. If your LO is EBF you are certain to have what we call a "buttsplosion".
The poop will get on the cover but if you have snug leg holes you will have no problems.

Re: Scared to Trifold
I've trifolded my imagine yellow edge pf's a few times. I'm don't personally like it all that much because they are a little too big to have in my covers. I still have to fan it out a little in front and back to get them to fit. They do hold tons of pee though, never had a leak. I plan on keeping them to use trifolded more when his one size is snapped one size bigger.

Re: Scared to Trifold
I've tried it a couple times but wasn't a fan (nothing leaked out of the cover, but the prefold gets all squished down and moved around inside it). You might as well try it when you're home sometime, though. Unless your cover doesn't contain poop, you should be fine!

I have started doing it because I can barely snappi the prefold in there. But I still prefer the snappied pf. But maybe I am just getting more lazy because today has been all about the trifolded pf in a bummi sww or thirsties duo size 1.

Re: Scared to Trifold
We trifolded with no issues. Just make sure your cover fits well, no saggy bum, and it works like a charm.

Re: Scared to Trifold
never had leaks trifolding. If you're worried though, i would suggest using a cover that has leg gussets

Re: Scared to Trifold
I have been trifolding in my flips, econobums, and thirstie covers since DD was 3 weeks old. The poop gets on the cover but never escapes. Except when I moved them to the medium rise setting to soon for her. I trifold an infant indian unbleached prefold from cottonbabies and it works great!

I trifold...two years for my (now pl) dd and since birth for ds. He always peed out of the orange edge, he had to be in yellow pretty fast.
