Re: what size bed for older children?
We have a guest room, 2 of our girls share so we can have one and then we have a pull out sofa in the basement. BUT, the bolded part is exactly why (well another reason) they have twin beds. I don't want to feel obligated to pull them out of their own beds when we have company. It reminds me of Christmas Vacation.

DS is in a full bed because it's what we had at the time. DD is in a twin, and I much prefer the full. It makes it easier to snuggle and read stories, plus I have an extra bed for the times I have more than just my parents visiting - like my sister.
