Wipes solution with witch hazel?
I'm learning about wipes solutions and I have ordered 2 different concentrates to try. Reading online, I see that some people advise mixing up your solutions with witch hazel instead of boiled or distilled water.
Do you know the advantages of witch hazel? Does it make the solution last longer? Better cleaning for the little buttsky? Does it have a smell that will detract from the wipe solution's smell (I tried to order good smelling concentrates)? Does anyone mix their wipe solution with witch hazel? |

Re: Wipes solution with witch hazel?
I hate the smell. I find it too strong to cover up.
It has some soothing properties for inflamed areas and swelling. It also usually contains 14% alcohol so it might make the wipes last longer. I don't use it. My wipes last a good five days with just a soap dilution and a couple drops of lavender.

Re: Wipes solution with witch hazel?
I use it in our wipes solution, along with lavender oil. I love it. Keeps the wipes fresh, soothes the bum, and it doesn't sting.

Re: Wipes solution with witch hazel?
Thanks. Since witch hazel is so cheap, and easier than boiling water, maybe I will just buy some and see how it smells.
I'd also like to know if you can combine it with water, distiller or boiled. |

I make my own wipe solution with witch hazel all the time. I just mix water, witch hazel and coconut oil. It has been the best thing I've tried for my girls. I love witch hazel as a face astringent also, good stuff.
