Can wool be dried flat outside? Specifically soakers and wraps.

Don't put them in direct sunlight. That will felt them.

It would certainly speed up the drying time, but I'd watch out for bugs getting into your woolies!

If you have a window with a screen, that would be better.

Yeah, I would watch out for bugs. I put my wet wool on top of the dryer when it is on and it dries very quick.

felting changes the feel of the wool. it will be thicker, so felting is good when you want to make the wool thicker. it doesnt feel as nice and soft anymore though, and also looses its value. it can also shrink the wool too.

I usually dry it outside in the summer. I've been told to put it in the shade though.

I usually dry my wool outside...sometimes in the sun (in Hawaii) and I haven't experience felting. I thought felting occurs when you mix wool with heat and agitation?

I dry mine flat outside and haven't experienced any shrinking or felting or bugs. Just speedier drying.
