Expired crescent rolls?

I have a tube of crescent rolls with the date Apr2011 stamped on them. Do you think they are safe to eat or should I just pitch them?

I would pitch. Sorry...but when in doubt, throw it out. I never would want to risk food borne illness.

If it was a couple days up to a week I'd go for it... but 3 months, nah.

I have used them a little past the date, but that is really pretty old IMO.

Re: Expired crescent rolls?

I think the real reason for expiration dates on the crescent rolls is because they start to dry out and fall apart. A few weeks ago I accidentally grabbed a very old tube of them and couldn't even separate them they were so dried out. Couldn't use them at all.

Open 'em up. You'll know right away if they're bad. Like pp said, they dry up or I've seen them separate and have oily parts. Guess I'm risky, but if they look and smell ok, I'd cook them. If they still look good (normal), I'd eat 'em!

Open it, if it doesn't smell funny I would think it's okay.
