Re: Which breastfeeding pillow would you recommend?

Thanks everyone! I think I will try the Gia Simplisse. It gets good reviews, looks like it may be more helpful than the boppy in terms of actually keeping baby up at the breast, and still useful as a baby proper. I don't like that the MBF is really only useful for the first few months of nursing.

Boppy all the way. My Breast Friend didn't bring my baby up close enough to me, I needed the extra boost from the Boppy.

I also didn't like how the Breast Friend strapped all the way around me, felt like I was wearing addxn innertube...

The Boppy is ehhh for us for nursing right now, awesome for him napping or propping him up to watch tv with us (yea i know it says dont let them nap in it), and good for tummy time action.

Re: Which breastfeeding pillow would you recommend?

I tried the boppy and the brest friend pillow. Brest friend was great for the first month or two when he was itty-bitty, but we outgrew it quickly. DS is 14 months now and we still use the stupid boppy for nursing. He is not happy without it. We he was super tiny, I'd just put folded blankets underneath the boppy and that got him up to the right height. I also used the boppy to wrap around behind him when he was first learning to sit up and fell backwards a lot.

My advice for nursing pillows, they're great, but practice nursing without them too or you might end up with a pillow-addict like DS. GL, mama!

Re: Which breastfeeding pillow would you recommend?

I didn't use the boppy much for nursing, but it was perfect to allow our older son to "hold" the baby because it was such a strong C shape. The one thing I didn't like about nursing pillows is that NONE of them worked with our glider.

I love the Boppy - I have two. DD is almost a year and we still use the Boppy for her first and last nursings of the day.

That said, I would recommend that moms be able to nurse without a pillow. It would be such a pain to have to tote one around with you everywhere!

I hated my boppy (gave it to my sister), but loved my Bosom Baby Nursing Pillow. And we can use it to prop DS up, as a body pillow, iPad support, reading time pillow, sleep on the couch pillow, etc. LOVE this pillow!

Re: Which breastfeeding pillow would you recommend?

I loved the breastfriend one. Hated the boppy. I loved that if I had to get up to answer the phone, the pillow made it possible to pick up and keep nursing.
and after you're done nursing... they make a great place to put the laptop!!

My Brest Friend. I had one when my 12 & 9 year olds were babies and bought another for my 8 month old. I had c-sections and I loved that my scar was protected from being hurt, the pillow was firm, and there's a little pocket that can hold stuff.
