Re: I CAN NOT get my diapers clean! PLEASE HELP!

RnG cleaned alright. Our night diapers were prone to stink though so I had to bleach them. The day diapers just had a smell, not really noticeable, but it wasn't a bad smell. When I switched to Cheer it all went away.

Re: I CAN NOT get my diapers clean! PLEASE HELP!

So I was wrong. All of my pockets diapers are repelling water like rain-x on a windshield. And they smelled strongly of detergent so I ran them through again on HOT water. and then again and again. No detergent smell at all, no bubbles...so I thought I was done. Wrong. Still repelling water.

I scrubbed each pocket diaper with a soft toothbrush and Dawn (original), rinse, rinse, rinse. And washed them on HOT three MORE times, no bubbles.

They are still repelling!!! I am at a total loss! What do I do now? I can't use my diapers

More help PLEASE

Mama, are you sure they are repelling? Did you put them on your baby to test them? If you're just pouring water on them, and it's beading up, that's not an accurate test. The nature of the stay-dry fabric is that the liquid doesn't move through it easily - it needs the pressure of your babys bum to push it through.

FWIW, I agree with many previous posts, I 100% believe the "not getting clean" part was due to the RnG.

oh and BTW, if you switched to regular Tide, you are going to still smell the detergent after they are clean - that's not "buildup." It's just scented detergent

Does the water temp make a difference or adding more water either?

Same here! I only do one extra rinse and can't smell it at all.

Re: I CAN NOT get my diapers clean! PLEASE HELP!

Update: Ok, I took a deep breath and stopped freaking out. I re-stripped all of my diapers and rinsed in hot/warm water only and reduced the amount Tide I used. I also started using Calgon. And so far everything is going well, no repelling, no problems.

Thanks mamas for all of your help! I was really starting to pull my hair out....
