Free and Clear detergents NOT recommended for cloth diapers!

I was really surprised to find that TWO different sources, BOTH of whom recommend Tide, state that F&C detergents aren't good for cloth diapers.

http://www.rumparooz.com/faqs.php *See info under "Our detergent guidelines"*

Now, don't flame me. I know many here use F&C and love it, but I feel information is always a good thing. There may be mamas having ammonia issues bc of their F&C detergent and this can help them. I wouldn't have posted this if it were the usual mumbo jumbo garbage about CD "safe" detergents. However, since BOTH of these sources recommend big brand detergents and are reputable (esp. RaR bc they're a very green company), I feel it's valuable information.

CRAPOLA!!!!!!!

I JUST bought all F&C last night cause I am soooo sick of Tide ultra. Was giving us horrid amonia smell and now the one thing I bought to make it better is only going to make it worse. Now what???

Ahhhhhhh!

You can use the Free n Clear on your clothes at least.. I personally want to try Country Save bc I've never heard anything negative about it.

I have been using free and clear for YEARS on cloth diapers. Most of the diapers have been through 4 kids. Never have had elastic, pul, or stink issues.

I will still use it.

eah Im sticking with it for now until or if I have issues. So far all the dipes used today smell like nothing so I guess nothing bad yet. With tide ultra I couldnt even hold a peed dipe within arms reach it smelled so bad.

I just read a few threads on cs and the reviews are pretty mixed.

What kind of free and clear do you normally use?

As for Country Save make sure your LO doesn't have a coconut sensitivity/allergy. (like mine does) Its probably pretty rare. Too bad because its available locally here and its supposed to work great.

I've been using tide free and clear with no issues so far. I'll switch it up if/when a problem comes up.
