Re: Sad i think my Baby is weaning :(
If you don't want her to wean, just keep offering.
Lots of babies this age slow down on the nursing (just part of being fascinated with this big ol' world and all the things there are to do in it ) or just cut back. My 15 month old is only nursing in the morning and night, and maybe for a nap, and has been doing that for about 4 months now. My girls both did the same thing, and my eldest weaned herself in December, while my 3 year old is still nursing (once every few days or so). IMHO, babies don't self wean that early (lots of babies DO wean because of outside influences). If you keep offering, she'll likely keep at it, even if she does seem like she's near stopping. ![]() Good luck mama!! |

Re: Sad i think my Baby is weaning :(
It could be a nursing strike of sorts. Try taking a warm bath together. It's hard to babies to resist in the bathtub!

Re: Sad i think my Baby is weaning :(
Mine had a nursing strike like that around 10 months. I would have to give him a bottle w/ pumped milk for a minute or two and then give him the breast.
Most babies won't wean until much older. So it's probably either a slow down (but not weaning) or a nursing strike. Good luck to you. If you're wanting to wean, however, now is probably a good time, before the strike is over.

Re: Sad i think my Baby is weaning :(
My guy cut back a lot at that time. I think he was just more distracted and becoming more independent, so he was focused on other things. He definitely wasn't ready to wean, though... and now he's going through another growth spurt/developmental change and has been wanting to nurse a ton (he turned one last month).

Re: Sad i think my Baby is weaning :(
She's not weaning! It's natural for babes in her age group to get distracted because their 'awareness bubble' gets considerably larger at this time. I noticed you're expecting too....this could play a part in her pattern change. Just offer, as you would any other 'food' and know that once the baby is born, she will probably increase nursing and help with engorgement!
![]() BTW, big kudos for nursing while preggo!
