DD1 i did it , and it was gross....lol ...
did nothing , just got kinda crampy....

DD2 dispite my saying id never ever do it again ....i did .... lol
it just cleaned me out.....only last like 30 mins tho.... i felt great after lol..... and was crampy all night long....

soo with this baby i might do it the night i know ill go into labour ( i have my babies on my due date ( not the edd lol ) ) just to clean me out ..... i pooped in labour with DD2 and im still very embarrassed about it ...... dont want that happening again lol

i dont suggest it unless you are on your due date or past due .... it MIGHT help....

I did it with DS2. I took castor oil (3 oz) at 2 pm. had some bowel movements within an hour (wasnt awful, was just like taking any other laxative IMO) I felt completely normal until I started contractions at 8pm. delivered ds2 at just after 12 am.

I took it for my YDS and ad him the next morning with out pooping myself. Lol I had really strong contraction and I feel like its because of the caster oil, but it worked for me.

Oh and my midwife told me to take it because at 36weeks YDS was measuring 9lbs so she told me to take it 37 weeks.

Castor oil causes diarrhea which dehydrates you. The dehydration is what causes contractions. When I worked in L & D we had lots of mamas that came in after taking castor oil with contractions. We sent most home since they weren't in true labor. A little bit of fluid and most stopped contracting pretty soon. Plus, if it does happen to work for you and if you progress quickly think of the fun diarrhea while pushing :-( ick!

Made me sick. Did not induce labor. Meconoum in the fluid when she was born (was told it *could* have been caused by the castor oil. I don't suggest it.

I took it w/ OJ. It gave me diarrhea and made me puke but no uterine cxn, just intestinal.
